1. Extremely high precision and wear resistance
Features: The tooth profile, tooth direction, and pitch of the gear require extremely high dimensional accuracy to ensure smooth meshing and reduce impact and noise.
Implementation method:
Precision machining: high-precision machining processes such as gear hobbing, gear hobbing, gear shaving, and gear honing are used. High end gears also use gear grinding technology to achieve micrometer level precision.
High strength materials: Low carbon alloy steels such as 20CrMnTi, 20CrMo, etc. are usually used. After carburizing, quenching, nitriding and other heat treatment processes, the surface of the gear reaches extremely high hardness, while the core maintains sufficient toughness, thus possessing both wear resistance and impact resistance.
Surface treatment: Sometimes phosphating, oxidation and other surface treatments are used to improve lubrication and anti bite ability.
2. Excellent strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance
Features: Able to withstand the torque transmitted by the engine, gear shift impact, and complex alternating loads, preventing tooth root fracture and tooth surface pitting and peeling.
Implementation method:
Optimization design: Adopting shaping techniques to chamfer and trim the tooth tips and ends to compensate for deformation under load and avoid stress concentration.
Deep carburizing and quenching: Ensure a sufficiently deep hardening layer to prevent plastic deformation or crushing of the hardening layer of the gear under heavy load.
High purity purity steel: Using high-purity gear steel, strictly controlling non-metallic inclusions, and improving the fatigue limit of the material.
3. Good meshing and low noise
Characteristics: Gears should transition smoothly during meshing and separation, with smooth transmission, low vibration, and low noise. This is a key indicator for measuring the quality of a gearbox.
Implementation method:
High precision tooth profile: ensures constant instantaneous transmission ratio and reduces transmission fluctuations.
Tooth surface smoothness: By precision machining processes such as honing, a very smooth tooth surface is obtained, reducing friction noise.
Macro parameter optimization: By optimizing parameters such as modulus, helix angle, pressure angle, etc., and using helical gears instead of spur gears (which have become mainstream in passenger cars), the coincidence degree is increased, the meshing is smoother, and the noise is significantly reduced.
